Tylosin base………………….200 mg

Excipient s.q.t…………………..1ml    

Description:

Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic with a bacteriostatic action against mainly Gram-positive bacteria like Campylobacter, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Treponema spp.

Indications:

Gastrointestinal and respiratory infections caused by tylosin sensitive micro-organisms, like Campylobacter, Mycoplasma, Pasteurella, Staphylococcus, Streptococcus and Treponema spp., in calves, cattle, goats, sheep and swine.

Dosage:

For intramuscular administration:

General: 1 ml. per 10 - 20 kg. body weight for 3 - 5 days.

Tylosin injection Side effects:

After intramuscular administration local reactions can occur, which disappear in a few days. Diarrhoea, epigastric pain and skin sensitization can occur.

Withdrawal times:

- For meat: 10 days.

- For milk: 3 days.

Simply put,   Tylosin   is a natural antibiotic made from bacteria. It works by interfering with the ability of other bacteria to make proteins. It only affects the manufacture of bacterial proteins and therefore does not affect the protein manufacture of mammals, birds or reptiles. Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic (the same as erythromycin).   How to use this drug? Tylosin is licensed for use in livestock as a broad-spectrum antibiotic for the treatment of infections, but it has other uses that are not related to its antibiotic activity.
